1. Meo Vac Town, Ha Giang - A stop that everyone must visit
1.1. Overview of Meo Vac
Meo Vac Town is located in Ha Giang Province, Northern Vietnam, in the Dong Van Karst Plateau Global Geopark. That's why Meo Vac's terrain is mostly limestone mountains, and agricultural land accounts for about 12,100 hectares. Most of this land will be used for growing and exploiting medicinal plants, Himalayan ginseng, pecans, etc.
The natural scenery of Meo Vac is unique with rocky mountains shaped like cat ears or most specifically the adventurous and challenging Ma Pi Leng Pass with U-shaped bends. Meo Vac is more than 150 km from Ha Giang City and about 30 km from Dong Van Town. From the city, the most common route is to drive along Highway 4C through Quan Ba, Yen Minh and then to Meo Vac. Some other routes are to go through National Highway 34 then National Highway 4C or through National Highway 4C then Road number 176 (a smaller road so travel may take longer). The terrain in the rocky plateau is difficult to navigate and dangerous with many mountain passes, so visitors must be more careful when driving.
