VIETNAM E-VISA UPDATED JULY 2023
The National Assembly of Vietnam has recently approved the extension of the visa. These legislative amendments will come into effect on August 15, 2023.
These changes are expected to facilitate a more welcoming environment for international travelers and support the recovery of Vietnam's tourism industry:
- Increasing the duration of visa exemption from 15 days to 45 days for visa waiver countries:
France, Germany, Belarus, South Korea, Denmark, Spain, Finland, Italy, Japan, Norway, United Kingdom, Russia and Sweden
- Extension of the duration of the Vietnam e-visa from 30 days to 90 days. Additional countries benefiting from this e-visa application will be announced at a later date. For a period of 90 days, foreigners can enter and leave the country with an unlimited number of entries.

What is Vietnam e-visa?
The e-visa is an electronic visa that allows entry into Vietnam. Implemented by the Vietnamese government in 2018, the e-visa is an online visa valid for entering and staying in Vietnam, and allows people to avoid long waits at the embassy or consulate general. Indeed, the e-visa applications to go to Vietnam are faster and cheaper than the traditional procedures. The Vietnam e-visa costs USD 25 per person, and the whole procedure is done exclusively online.

Yes, tourists are from this nationalities are exempted Vietnam visa:
French, Italian, Spanish, German and British citizens are exempted from visa requirements if they stay less than 45 days in Vietnam, with only one entry into the country. In case of multiple entries, or a longer itinerary than 45 days, a Vietnam visa will be required.

E-visa is not like other traditional Vietnam visas, the e-visa holder will only be able to make one entry into Vietnam, and you can stay maximum of 90 days
For the exempted nationalities, it is possible to make two entries, benefiting from the visa exemption for the first entry of 45 days maximum.
What are the requirements for obtaining a Vietnam e-visa?
It is important to note that in order to land on Vietnam territory, you must already have your valid e-visa. In order to apply for an e-visa and travel to Vietnam, you must:
- Have your passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of exit from Vietnam.
- Not to have been expelled from Vietnam in the last 3 years
- Not to be a carrier of any disease.
- Arrive at one of the international airports or checkpoints in Vietnam.
- Be in the list of eligible nationality

How to get the Vietnam e-visa?
The undeniable advantage of e-visa to go to Vietnam is that you can apply for e-visa 7 days a week, 24 hours a day on the online site. The site is in English so you can easily obtain the evisa for Vietnam within a couple of minutes.
Here is some steps to follow to obtain the visa online:
- Step 1: Fill out the form
- Step 2: Upload the documents

How to fill out the application form?
The procedure includes a visa application form to be filled with several information:
- Your airport of arrival and exit in Vietnam

The form must be filled out with great care: the slightest error may result in the issuance of an invalid visa.
What documents do I need to provide?
After filling out the visa application form, you will need to scan and upload some of the required documents. Here is the file to be filled out and uploaded online:
- A color scan or a good quality color copy of the identity page on your passport: the one that includes your date of birth, passport number, validity period and all information related to your identity. This copied passport must be clear and good quality.
- Your valid passport + 6 months after your return, it is preferable to keep at least 3 blank pages, 2 of them are used when you arrive in Vietnam.
- Your portrait photo in good quality. Black and white or poor quality photos are rejected.
- There is no round-trip airline ticket required, nor is there a hotel reservation or invitation letter.
Payment method for Vietnam e-visa application
Once you have filled in the information in the form and uploaded the file to the portal, you can proceed to payment. To do so, please use your credit card ( Visa/Master card). Before this step, check your application form carefully: any error that could make your e-visa denied.
How much does the Vietnam e-visa cost?
The electronic visa costs 25 USD. This amount is much cheaper than the regular visa fee at the Consulate: it is promoted by the Vietnamese immigration services to simplify the formalities and attract tourists to Vietnam. Stamping fees are included in this official price.
How long does it take to get an e-visa for Vietnam?
The normal procedure for applying for a valid visa usually takes less than a week by consular officials. The processing time is usually 5 working days, but it can vary depending on the circumstances. Therefore, we recommend you should do Evisa as soon as possible, at least 10 days before arrival.

Read carefully 3 steps and scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the box (confirmation of reading carefully instructions and having completed the application)
Then click "Next"

In this page, you have to upload your portrait photo and your passport data page.
Carefully fill in the form with your information.
NOTE:
You have to upload your newest portrait photo - Do not use the taking photo of your portrait in your passport.
Do not use portrait photo with glasses.
Fill your full name exactly as showing in your ICAO line in your passport.

How to check your Vietnam e-visa?
Your request will be processed within 3 business days. It will also give you an order number that you should note for your records.

How to check Vietnam evisa?
Enter the registration code, registration email and your date of birth. Once the e-visa is approved, print this form and present it upon arrival in Vietnam.
