  • Day 1 : Hanoi arrival, get a pick up to hotel

    Welcome to Hanoi – the capital of Vietnam!
    After landing and immigration procedure, Ama Journey’s tour guide and driver are waiting for you to pick up and take a 45-minute transfer to your hotel in Hanoi old quarter.
    Check in at your hotel (check in time after 14.00), take a rest after your flight or enjoy a walk around to discover the 36 streets city followed by a welcome dinner at a restaurant in the old quarter.

  • Day 2 : Hanoi tour full day - Night train to Sapa

    After breakfast at your hotel, at 8.00 our private tour guide and driver will meet you for a full day exploring this charming city.
    Starting to visit the Ho Chi Minh memorial complex where the body of the “great father of nation” is preserved. Then nearby is Presidential Palace – a very nice colonial style architecture, the house on stilts where HCM lived and worked, walking to the small bridge to see the fish pond will lead you to the One Pillar Pagoda – an ancient Buddhist temple and cultural significance in Hanoi.
    The next will be a short walk to Huu Tiep Lake to see the B52 crash site still in the middle of the lake that was shot down during the 1972 bombing in Hanoi. You will have a chance to see the locals through the small alleys of the streets, local markets, and a 400-year-old Ngoc Ha temple.
    Another fascinating highlight is Vietnam Museum of Ethnology which is a research center and also a public museum exhibiting 54 minority groups of Vietnam. And you will meet them during your Vietnam trip.
    Lunch will be served by famous Vietnamese food: Pho noodle. You will see a local skilled chef making Pho, see how to make and what are the ingredients, then enjoy a delicious hot bowl of Pho.
    After lunch, we will explore a thousand-year architecture work, the first university of Vietnam: The temple of Literature built in 1070. This is also a temple to worship Confucius. Next is the Hoa Lo Prison, known as the Hanoi Hilton, built by the French colonialist and later North Vietnamese used it for American prisoners of war.
    A full day Hanoi tour will last until the evening. You will explore the old town through famous streets such as: Hang Ngang, Hang Dao, Ta Hien, Ma May, Hang Ma, Bat Su…
    Enjoy your own dinner and get a transfer to Hanoi Railway Station for a night train to Lao Cai.

  • Day 3 : Sapa arrival - Pick up and explore the villages

    In the early morning, arrive at Lao Cai railway station, get a pick up for breakfast and then transfer 30 km to Sapa town.
    Leave your luggage at the hotel or at our office and then depart to discover Sapa by an easy trekking along the Muong Hoa valley. Visit the Hmong village in Lao Chai, then follow the trek route surrounded by the rice fields to Ta Van, the village of the Zay people. Visit homes and meet locals to better understand their customs and life.
    Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in Ta Van village before returning to Sapa.
    In the afternoon, explore Cat Cat village. The village near Sapa town where you can stop and admire the waterfall. Here, local people still use the hydroelectric station from this waterfall, then trek through the field terraces to catch the car back to Sapa for your refresh before your own dinner at a restaurant.

  • Day 4 : Sapa - Discover Fansipan peak - shuttle bus to Hanoi

    Enjoy a great day to view the majestic Hoang Lien Son Mountain range.
    Pick up from your hotel to the Muong Hoa railway station for a short nice train crossing the valley. Conquering the peak of Indochina - Fansipan by taking the World’s longest non-stop three-rope cable car of 6292.5m, you will have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to gaze down upon the Hoang Lien Son Mountain Range, Muong Hoa Valley and enjoy the magnificent natural landscapes.
    These breathtaking views and picturesque sceneries appear dramatically and leave unique memorable experiences to all the travelers.
    Discover the Buddhist complex after the cable car trip. Another opportunity to take the second mountain train or hike about 500 steps to the peak of Indochina at 3143 m and leave your footprint there. On the way back, do not forget to have a hot drink at a 3000 m high café and enjoy the stunning natural landscapes
    In the afternoon, enjoy a shuttle bus transfer to Hanoi. On arrival, check in hotel at the Hanoi Old quarter.

  • Day 5 : Hanoi - Ninh Binh: Tam Coc, Bich Dong, Mua Cave

    8.00 Pick up from your hotel and transfer to Ninh Binh.
    After a 2 hour drive along highway No 1, arriving in Hoa Lu – the ancient capital of Vietnam in the 11th century. Discover the beauties and the histories of 2 king temples: Dinh King Temple and Le King temple.
    Moving to Tam Coc area for a Sampan boat trip along the Ngo Dong river which is a colorful rice field in the harvest season among Karst mountain ranges. The rowing boat will lead you to the gorgeous landscapes and throughout the 3 grottoes (Tam is three and Coc is grotto). Back to the pier after 1.5 – 2 hours in the rowing boat trip and enjoy a lunch at a local restaurant.
    After lunch, we will explore Bich Dong pagoda, one of the typical pagoda in the red river delta of northern Vietnam. Crossing the stone bridge to the ancient gate of Bich Dong pagoda. Discover The “Lower pagoda” then more than 100 steps to Chua Trung (Middle pagoda). A special pagoda in the cave and the unique clay statues. Walking up through the cave will lead you to the highest pagoda (Chua Thuong) which not only provides you with the history but also offers a great view from there.
    Later, transfer to Hang Mua (Mua cave) to enjoy hiking to the Ngoa Long mountain. Conquer 500 steps to reach the peak. That would be worth it for a great panorama view from the top.

  • Day 6 : Ninh Binh- Halong Bay - Lan Ha Bay boat trip

    Breakfast at your hotel in Ninh Binh. Pick up and transfer to Halong Bay. After a 3 hour transfer, arrive in Tuan Chau island, welcomed by cruise’s staff, enjoy a welcome drink and check in procedure for an overnight cruise in Halong bay – Lan Ha Bay.
    A sumptuous lunch will be served on the cruise while cruising through the Halong Bay to Lan Ha Bay. Explore the Dave and Bright Cave – famous for natural beauty in the pristine area of Lan Ha Bay. This will be the best time for some interesting activities such as kayaking, bamboo boat rowing, swimming or simply relaxing on the cruise.
    In the evening, Enjoy a delicious dinner on the cruise before join in some fishing activities and overnight in Lan Ha Bay

  • Day 7 : Lan Ha Bay - Tuan Chau - Transfer to airport for flight to Siem Reap

    Get up in the morning. Tai Chi lessons are available before a nice breakfast. Then discover the Trung Trang cave – one of the most impressive caves in the middle of Cat Ba island. This is the natural limestone cave with thousand beautiful stalagmites and stalactites in different amazing shapes.
    Lunch is ready on the cruise after checking out the room and cruising back to the pier. Meeting our driver and transfering to airport for flight to Siem Reap

  • Day 8 : Angkor Thom – Preah Khan – Neak Pan – East Bon – Pre Rup

    Our guide and driver will meet you at your hotel and take you to explore Angkor Thom, the ancient royal city of the Khmer Empire. The centerpiece of this city is the Bayon temple, known for its enigmatic faces of former King Jayavarman VII gazing in all directions.
    Your guide will show you the Terrace of the Elephants, a platform where the King would welcome his victorious army, and the Terrace of the Leper King, adorned with intricate carvings leading to the Baphuon complex.
    We will then drive to Preah Khan temple, originally a Buddhist monastery and school dedicated to Jayavarman VII's father. This temple has been preserved without significant renovation.
    For lunch, you'll have a home-cooked meal at the house of Mr. Peout and his wife, Mrs. Gin, who will share their life stories from the Khmer Rouge era to the present.
    After lunch, we'll continue our visit to other temples in the grand circle, including Neak Pan, Ta Som, East Mebon, and Pre Rup. On our way back to Siem Reap town, we'll stop at a Khmer Traditional Massage Place for a relaxing 60-minute foot massage before dropping you off at your hotel.

  • Day 9 : Phnom Krom Sunrise – Floating Village – Countryside Tour

    Wake up early in the morning and head to Phnom Krom, located 13km south of Siem Reap, to witness a stunning sunrise over the rice paddies and the floating village of Tonle Sap Lake. Enjoy a picnic breakfast on the hill of Phnom Krom. After breakfast, take a boat ride to explore Chong Kneas Floating Village and experience the daily life of the villagers. This natural wonder provides a glimpse into the traditional riparian lifestyle and the beautiful countryside. Later, visit an Artisan Dangkor workshop.
    Return to the hotel for relaxation and have lunch at your own leisure. At 3 pm, our guide and scooter driver (a tuk-tuk is available if you prefer) will pick you up and take you to Krabei Riel Village. Witness the villagers engaging in daily activities such as working in vegetable gardens, rice fields, and weaving. There will be plenty of opportunities for pictures and interaction with the locals.
    Visit Mr. Ron's house, where his family will warmly welcome you. Mrs. Sina, his wife, will lead a cooking class where you will learn to prepare three authentic Cambodian dishes. Enjoy the dinner with the food you have cooked. Bid farewell to Mr. Ron's family, and our scooter driver(s) will ride you back to your hotel in Siem Reap.

  • Day 10 : Angkor Wat – High-tea at the local house – Ta Prohm – Banteay Srei

    Have breakfast at the hotel and get ready for an early morning visit to Angkor Wat. At 6:30 am, our guide and driver will pick you up from the hotel. Explore Angkor Wat, one of the modern wonders of the world, and marvel at its grandeur.
    Learn about the prosperous Khmer Empire during the 9th to 13th centuries, the period when Angkor Wat was constructed. Walk through intricately carved hallways displaying hundreds of fine carvings and discover small shrines that are still actively used by the locals.
    Next, visit Srah Srang, the royal pool where King Jayavarman VII used to bathe in the 12th century. Take a walk through the village and enjoy high tea at one of the local houses, where the hosts will warmly greet you with fresh fruits, snacks, coffee, and hot tea. Continue the journey to Ta Prohm temple, known for its stunning overgrowth of fig trees, creating a haunting and exotic ambiance. The intertwining tree roots merging with the temple's stone blocks evoke a sense of a "lost city" atmosphere.
    Enjoy lunch at Bong Thom Homestay restaurant.
    Afterwards, we'll drive further north to visit Banteay Srei temple, often referred to as the jewel of Khmer art. Located an hour away from Siem Reap, this red sandstone temple is renowned for its elaborate carvings, exquisitely preserved on its walls. Finally, we'll return to Siem Reap with a final stop at the intriguing Landmine Museum of Mr. Aki Ra. Mr. Aki Ra has dedicated himself to mine clearance efforts in Cambodia since the country's liberation from war. Return to hotel.
